Quah Treble
Grilled took to the field with only five regulars, but that was enough to put a devastated Durian_picker side to the sword with captain for the day
Quah Han Kok notching only his third career hat-trick to mark his 200th appearance for the club.
It was only a question of how much against a Durian_picker eleven composed of volunteers, and
Quah Han Kok stepped up to start the goals flowing in the 13th minute from the penalty spot, after
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob had been pushed over well inside the area. A volley four minutes on effectively ended the contest, and a rampaging Zoltan Árva enjoyed the freedom granted to him in this low-intensity match to chest in a third.
Ivaylo Mirchev and bin Yaacob made full use of their valuable S-League starts to pad their resumes, as they found the target either side of half time.
Ciro Penati didn't score but not for lack of trying, as he tore down the right flank many times with ease, and supplied bin Yaacob with the simplest of tap-ins at least.
Han Kok could have completed his hat-trick earlier than he did, as he swung in a sweet free-kick to the far post. Not many knew of his skills in this respect as Martinsson, Sid and Rotteveel have been the main takers for his tenure at the club, but the Durian goalie would be a spoiler as he pulled off a magnificent save.
Fjällbratt ran for the loose ball and appeared to have a good shout for another penalty, as he was sent spinning to the grass after being bumped in full flight. However, the referee clearly thought he had thrown himself and flashed the yellow card, which will see Fjällbratt out of the bench for the Cup semifinals on Wednesday. The Swedish midfielder playing at leftback didn't let that get him down, though, scoring in the very next minute with a raid across the face of goal.
Han Kok was again denied as his diving header was batted around the post, but Chowdhury would add to the scoreline a day after his birthday with a composed finish after Penati had robbed an opposing defender of the ball. Han Kok then finally claimed the match ball as he simply blasted one in from all of twenty-five metres, leaving the keeper with a wry smile on his face.
