18 year-old Wings graduate Philip Thomas would have two clubs coming after him out of nowhere, with the Malacca-based Malaysian Warriors first proposing a free transfer, under Finnish boss Tuomas Lassila. Thomas would opt to travel further afield, though, and signed with American H.A.L V.8 club Very very cool excellent yumyum super perfect team instead.
This sees Thomas now based in Nevada in yumyum's whites, but playing time might be hard to come by with the affiliates of Hungary's Májashurka efcé having gathered a large squad of some 47 players, in the past week or two. German head coach Edelt Wessels is evidently planning to have it be the survival of the fittess, with the trainees largely sorting it out by themselves in training.
Thomas recognized that he will have his work cut out for him in securing a goalkeeping spot, but remained confident of working himself into some role at his new club. "Heck, if they need a towel guy for the first season or two, I'm up for it."
