Mori Into Galaxy
Talented Farmer Bunnies apprentice centreback Aaron Mori left the club on a free transfer today, as he joined II.3 Ang Mo Kio giants Galactic Eagles CF. The Japanese connection of the Eagles - via the renowned FC Gotanda Gunners - might have tipped Chow Seng Tze's head towards the Japanese-Singaporean, but it must be said that the Bunnies coaches were all sad to see Mori leave.
"He was a standout even in our strongest defensive draft generation ever." assistant coach Li Aik Meng assessed. "That was no mean feat at all. In fact, as a pure central defender, he might even be better than the likes of
Ong Li Jing and
Amirul Jufri Khairil, from his natural height and build."
"And how many seventeen year-olds do you see sporting a full beard?" Li added.
Mori thanked the staff and his teammates in his farewell, as he admitted that he would have loved to stay, but had been warned by
Vishnu Tallapaka that there was already simply too much competition. "It is a great honour to be taken up by a club as well-known as the Eagles." he continued. "Perhaps we shall cross paths again soon!"
