Hasnawi Goes Slow
Grilled Birds youth playmaker Iqbal Hasnawi left on a free transfer to III.13 club THORtise today. The Holland Village newcomers, a spiritual successor to the former Orange Green, are currently running through candidates at a pretty fast clip, with Abdullah Faizol having just recruited Los Wowowons pair Steven Laforest and Jani Ottman, as well as FC Enghiennois' Joan Àngel Fornaguera, about a fortnight ago. Mahrous Tamim has also joined from Farmer Bunnies at the beginning of the season, of course, but his debut has been delayed.
Hasnawi, who figures himself as the basic do-it-all midfielder, was given the seal of approval in that regard by his scout, Lim Hock Puay. "His fundamentals are solid all around, and it was just a matter of time before he was picked up." Lim said of Iqbal. "If there's an area he could apply himself more to, I'd say it would be his determination on defence."
Grilled International's Johari bin Hj Jais, also in his early seventeenth year, would be favoured by Turkish Division Six side Afrasiab Spor Klübü, who made him their first transfer alongside Los Maños F.C.'s Manuel Zubiría. Adinath Pant had Johari recommended to him by his high school coach, and while he has earned his professional wings, Pant felt that he could have been so much more.
"Johari was always one of the most naturally gifted in the Busy Bees academy, but we all felt that he just coasted along, most of the time. He has the easy pace and an excellent left foot, but honestly, the application has been average. Here is to hoping that a change of environment will wake him up to his true potential."
