Bees Join Akkoç
The Busy Bees, youth team of Grilled International, have bade farewell to the Vanrian Youth League after the conclusion of its latest season. Their new home will be the sixteen-team Turkey-based Akkoç Paf Ligi, in which they duly shot to the top with a 7-1 thrashing of Poland's Młode Karpie - which was, incredibly, the only away win of the round.
The match saw Wahit bin Hasmali grab a brace on his full debut as main striker, a feat also managed by midfielders Gaurinath Kanoja and Tan Ming Ho. Ahmad bin Hj Herman completed the scoring for the Bees, while Karpie's Tadeusz Czerw salvaged some pride for the hosts with three minutes remaining.
Perhaps the Bees' most eagerly-awaited graduate was absent, though, with Lim Min Chu already focused on training with the senior side, for the past two months or so. "I don't like to praise youngsters," chief scout Zulfadly bin Hj Ratano said. "But he's indeed a cut above the rest."
