Almighty 2 - 4 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 1984 at Cosy Cottage today. Jean-Matthieu Coulon was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kristian Kristiansen and Leo Adriaenssens. The following players had been chosen: Lindheim - Variar, Ryu, Ruiz de Alarcón, Chi Jun, Jia Wei - Van Droogenbroeck, Soulier, Alves, Feliksik - Chee Ze.

Starters: Rykowski - Bakhtiar, Trung Quá, van der Ban - 中北 (Nakakita), Xin Lee, Xin Seng, Parvathaneni, Saliman - Awyong, Wan Kang.

J3 Almighty entered the field in a 5-4-1 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled took a creative approach on the field. After 27 minutes, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 1, as L. Wan Kang finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. With 28 minutes played, M. Xin Seng nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. K. Parvathaneni of Grilled received a yellow card after 37 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Grilled had to make a substitution after 38 minutes. R. van der Ban limped off the field and was replaced by Z. Jing Wei. As R. van der Ban left the field, the coach signaled to L. Wan Kang to be the new set pieces taker. C. Xin Lee received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 41 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Y. Van Droogenbroeck showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 41 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Grilled's Z. Jing Wei left the field after 42 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was C. Won. Grilled took the lead 43 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle. K. Parvathaneni was the scorer. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 60 percent of the ball.

Almighty tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. Almighty's L. Chi Jun got himself booked for a foul. Grilled were forced into a substitution as C. Won couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing R. Isufi to come in off the bench. The referee showed Grilled's M. Saliman the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. K. Parvathaneni came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over F. Lindheim but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 79 minutes, following yet another great corner, B. Ryu's flick on at the near post reached L. Chi Jun, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick. A well placed corner kick from Y. Van Droogenbroeck was followed by K. Feliksik's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Almighty, the score now 2 - 2. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

Grilled's H. Trung Quá could have put the guests one up after 96 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but F. Lindheim was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. The guests almost went up by a goal after 101 minutes when 悠. 中北 (Nakakita) came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. There was still no winner after 30 minutes of extra time so the teams had to select a lineup for a penalty shoot-out to settle the result.

Almighty's L. Chi Jun didn't look like he was confident as he stepped up, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of K. Rykowski. The score remained 2 - 2. Grilled's L. Wan Kang showed he has nerves of steel when it comes to penalties, easily changing the score to 2 - 3. Almighty's C. Jia Wei penalty shot was very well placed but K. Rykowski went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 2 - 3. Grilled's C. Xin Lee didn't hesitate but F. Lindheim managed the save, resulting in an unchanged 2 - 3 score. Oooh - how unlucky! Almighty's S. Variar attempt hit the underside of the bar, but rebounded down into the grateful arms of K. Rykowski. The score stays 2 - 3. Grilled's K. Parvathaneni drove the ball hard to the corner but couldn't get it past the outstretched arm of F. Lindheim. The score remains 2 - 3. Almighty's B. Ryu looked nervous even as he was putting the ball on the spot. He didn't take much of a run up, and his weak shot was easily saved by the keeper. Grilled's M. Xin Seng coolly put the ball past F. Lindheim. 2 - 4. The match ends 2 - 4. The most dominating Almighty player was without a doubt D. Soulier. However, Z. Chee Ze made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was M. Xin Seng. H. Bakhtiar on the other hand, had a terrible day.
