Chau Does The Samba
After a month of searching, Farmer Bunnies graduate Chau Lee Shi was taken up by Brazilian Division Five club Bambala F.C on a free transfer, which sees Chau moving to Rio de Janeiro with immediate effect.
Chau could hardly believe his fortune at moving to the heart of football. "I wouldn't have thought it possible - to play as a forward in Brazil, no less! What fun!"
Over at Grilled Birds, head coach
Djan Bacelar confirmed reports that the club had been looking at alumni Rick Tsang, who had excelled as a free-ranging sweeper with Polish Seventh Division side Team Emo Reaktywacja.
"Tsang would have made a very good defensive understudy, with
Ling Fuquan and
Gene Filippone not getting any younger, and
Yuki Irie possibly better suited to midfield." Bacelar said. "However, we didn't come to terms before Tsang decided to go for French side MaccabiGiantJoc instead. We do wish him well."
This was always a possibility, given that a host of clubs including jabbeke (Belgian Division Five), 1.FC Forch (Swiss Division Six) and cracoucas (French Division Six) were said to be interested. There was however a consolation for Grilled, in that insiders estimated that the eventual S$5.5 million transfer nevertheless brought in some S$100000 for the Birds, as Tsang's original club.
