The Birds released former Chicken Wing youth members Akash Saxena and Kok Ze Li today, after the two had sought a new club without success for some weeks. Senior scout Mok Feng De for one felt that the loss of Kok to the local football fraternity was unfortunate. "He's a big lad who can be dangerous from set-pieces." Mok offered. "In another year, he would probably have been taken up by someone."
Saxena on the other hand was always viewed as a bit of a striver by Wings watchers, even if many of them had a soft spot for the 18 year-old, who would up here after trials at Isle of Sparks. "He had the head for the game, but was just... lacking a little physically." Mok added. "But as I said, he's a smart fella, he'll do well in some other profession."
