Teo, Teja To Go
21 year-old old-fashioned winger
Teo Yong Yau and 18 year-old newly-promoted playmaker Reji Teja found new clubs, the former leaving for Turkish Division Six outfit ResKOL GAZİANTEPSPOR in a S$1.1 million deal, and the latter for recently-formed Woodlands side Villains F.C. on a free. Both were well pleased.
Teo was simply relieved to be able to move on, having found himself on the market for a long time. Despite sporadic appearances including a Man-of-the-Match performance in an 8-0 Cup whipping of Infantry CF, Teo yearned to be a regular, which he accepted was unlikely at Grilled, with former internationals
Seytek Djekshenkulov and
Shiya Shaahee providing his competition on the wings.
"They're not even much older, so I couldn't even wait it out." he admitted matter-of-factly. "I had to go to grow."
Reji Teja had much less waiting to do, having found his destination less than a week after signing professional forms. He will have a fair crack at Villians F.C., the successor club of former Division Two mainstays FC ~ vile. Chief scout Tham Beng Li, who discovered Teja, is of the opinion that his height will be useful there.
