A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Shining. Lineup: Nakip - 坤超 (Kunchao) , Biondo, Lezaun - Trudu, Sieslack, Boross, Wörishofer, Mayer - Bousquet, Võigemast.

Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Grilled fans held their breath as Chow Ying Lee scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! Shining's Étienne Bousquet had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 7 minutes having been played. Antonio Trielli was the replacement. Markus Võigemast knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 1 after 24 minutes. Shining's Siegwart Wörishofer refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 29 minutes. The referee showed Shining's Siegwart Wörishofer the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 35 minutes, Shining put themselves up by 1 - 2, as Siegwart Wörishofer finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. Siegwart Wörishofer knew he was in trouble after pulling back an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Shining player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. Sarp Nakip became the new Shining captain. Shining's Pedro Lezaun wanted to play on, but 37 minutes into the game the decision was made to substitute him for Kurt Sellerup. The defenders were clearly outwitted by Shining after 39 minutes. The disciplined free kick combination shifted the ball quickly to one side of the box, then back to the other. Antonio Trielli appeared on cue near the post, and steered it past the goalie. 1 - 3. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for team Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle to get them on. Grilled's Alex Fonseca cut towards the middle after 40 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, putting the 2 - 3 goal away. 2 - 3 was the halftime score. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

A series of fine plays up the middle should have led to a goal for Grilled, but Alex Fonseca's shot went over the bar. Markus Võigemast was, after 54 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but home side's keeper Dexter Stacey made the save. Grilled's 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 58 minutes. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's Slavcho Tzonkov was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes. Walter Ross was given a chance to change things around. 62 minutes into the game, Fortunato Biondo had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Geir Rørstad. Grilled had to make a substitution after 67 minutes. Chow Ying Lee limped off the field and was replaced by 唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai). Grilled needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 75 minutes Alex Fonseca made way for Mayur Gudivada. A lovely rush by Shining's Antonio Trielli past 林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) should have resulted in a goal, but the finish was just wide. Grilled was determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 88 minutes of play, 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) evened things up for Grilled with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 3 - 3. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. On the other hand, Mayur Gudivada's play was disheartening. The most dominating Shining player was without a doubt Markus Võigemast. Siegmund Sieslack on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 3.
