Tang was destined to be compared to arguably the Chicken Wings' most successful product thus far - Mohd Safri - once he was introduced to the side by scout Mok Feng De, and he has lived up to his billing.

His craft at forward was so developed that his youth coaches decided that crosstraining him at wingback for half a season would be more helpful for his future. In the end, however, not even his burgeoning talent was enough with Grilled stocked with top forwards, and he reluctantly accepted a transfer to further his career.
