Grilled 5 - 6 ROUNDS
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3874 at The Cooking Pot today.
Rui Silva was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Uwe Book and
Hans-Peter Raiss. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players took the field: Noubaryan - Awyong, Bakhtiar - Wee Li, Gudivada, Boon Boon, Adabala, Da Teck - Azhari, 恒才 (Hengcai), Yong Yau.
ROUNDS started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: van Hulten - Lewinski, Wiechert, Smidemann - Engelsen, Leleu, Traverso, Janas, Ibrahim - Álvarez, Wächterhäuser.
Grilled decided to play creatively. ROUNDS seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. With 11 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
Teo Yong Yau flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. After 36 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Hung Wee Li might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Humphrey van Hulten made a spectacular save. Grilled's
Wardi Azhari skillfully knocked a pass over the top after 38 minutes, and that was received by
唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai) who just managed to slot it past the opposing goalkeeper for 2 - 0. The corner kick from
Mayur Gudivada set
Krishnan Adabala up perfectly, as he soared to meet the ball, heading it in for 3 - 0. Ater 41 minutes
Rudolph Wächterhäuser seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored the reducer for ROUNDS making it 3 - 1. Grilled's
Teo Yong Yau was delighted to score the 4 - 1 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing after 42 minutes. It was 4 - 1 at the break. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let
Liew Soon Ting replace
Teo Yong Yau after 46 minutes. The home team's fans were upset when, after 47 minutes, the visiting
Rudolph Wächterhäuser broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 4 - 2 was the score. ROUNDS made it 4 - 3 as
Etienne Leleu knocked the corner kick to
Alberto Álvarez who whipped a low drive in off the far post. The visiting team's
Sven-Erik Smidemann was able to score the 4 - 4 equaliser with a header 63 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. Grilled took the lead 64 minutes into the game by 5 to 4, as
Mayur Gudivada elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
Zimraan Ibrahim tied the game at 5 - 5 after 67 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. Intentions were certainly good, but the Grilled indirect free kick combination after 77 minutes was easily anticipated by the defenders. That was a textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of ROUNDS's
Rudolph Wächterhäuser after 78 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 5 - 6 lead. That made three goals for
Rudolph Wächterhäuser and he was marked down for the hat trick. Grilled needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 88 minutes
Hilal Bakhtiar">
Hilal Bakhtiar made way for
林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui). After 88 minutes, Grilled switched
Colby Awyong with
Walter Ross, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Most important Grilled player was
林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui). On the other hand,
Hovaness Noubaryan's play was disheartening.
Emilio Traverso performed admirably for ROUNDS.
Sven-Erik Smidemann was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 6.
