After the dinner, an anonymous club source suggested that Grilled had been looking at U-20 forward Wu Soon Lai, rated at S$7.5 million by his current team FC Kocábka Forest. "We're quite surprised he hasn't moved at that price, really, but there's simply no space for him at the moment."
In a first for the club, several youth players from the Chicken Wings academy were given mentions, with defenders Ibrahim bin Yusoff and Ling Fuquan, defensive midfielder Zulharisan bin Mohamad and goalkeeper Liang Eng Ze singled out for praise.
"We believe that Ibrahim and Ling will be among the best prospects in their positions when they turn professional, which won't be long now." Grilled scout Lim Hock Puay said.
