Testimonial For Two
Grilled's match against Wiser4Media FC also marked an end to the football careers of two of Grilled's longest-serving players, as goalkeeper
Hang Bao-Tam and defender
Lan Tuan-Mu officially hung up their gloves and boots respectively after being with the club since its inception.
The only Number One and Two the club have known made a solid partnership in defence in the early days of the club, and will be sorely missed.
Hang, who was a local transfer from Dunces United, kept goal for Grilled in 129 competitive matches, keeping a clean sheet in fifty-three of those. The 47 year-old entered semi-retirement after suffering an injury against Belgian visitors kenshuteam two seasons ago, and will be de-registered from the squad for the upcoming season, while staying on as a part-time goalkeeping coach.
Lan Tuan-Mu has spent even longer on the backburner, having damaged his knee against Rezekvítek five seasons back. The fifty year-old Lan will however be making a clean break from football.
"It's time to spend more time with family." Lan said. "I'm expecting my first grandson soon, and I'm already looking forward to tackling him. There have been many great moments at Grilled, but all good things come to an end."
