Navales In For Kok
18 year-old wingback Kok Eng Jie signed off on an S$8000 move to Madrid club Ingenieros Navales F.C., who are currently top of their Division Nine league. This capped another successful reclamation project for Grilled scout Tham Beng Li, who gave Kok a second chance after he was rejected by Akademie der Jugend-Meister, youth side of Singapur Meister FC.
Kok had his pick of Navales and Polish Division Ten side FC Slums Attack, and decided on the former after some thought. "I had always wanted to play in Spain, and though I support Barcelona, Madrid's got a great footballing culture too." he explained.
Tham was suitably proud of his recruit's achievements. "Kok's been very good at running up and down the lines, he's got wonderful balance, knows when to take a shot, and says all the right things." Tham assessed. "He could have been a really exciting prospect had he just been a bit younger."
