Romanian Division Six club F.c Soimii Costesti Bz had a S$204 000 bid accepted for seventeen year-old central defender Cao Minwei. Cao, who spent just a single season in the Chicken Wings, was described as having most of the fundamentals when he first set foot in the academy, with the coaches only having to do some polishing up. Local side N.R.C United were reportedly interested in the youngster, but didn't follow up on their initial interest.
Cao's emergence was overshadowed somewhat by this week's crop of other defensive talents like Team Remy83's Ting Xin Ying and singnet_utd's Will Newsome, not to mention a couple of extremely promising wingers. "It's alright." Cao quipped before his departure. "It means that our U-20 scene is going to be very lively!"
