Chinablack 2 - 6 Grilled
irly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 135556 to Fortress Tactics.
Thomas Angerer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rolf Vorgaard and
Saturninas Šemiakinas. The match took place on neutral ground. Chinablack started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: bin Mat Arif - Pettersson, Ratas, Peoples, Barslev - Tzung, Pećarić, Aik How, Rua - Semprún, Nelis.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Abed-Sulaiman - Bona, Falkbo, Zywczyn - Paullin, Rottman, Kek-Tjiang, Siu-Yue, Han Kok - van Liere, Martinsson.
Chinablack clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Grilled's
Quah Han Kok proved that he's been around on a football pitch before, when he took advantage of a few moments of confusion in the opposition's defensive line and elegantly scored for 0 - 1.
Hidde van Liere could have put his team up another goal 11 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. 26 minutes into the game,
Velimir Pećarić came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. The defensive line of Chinablack created a counterattack through the middle that gave
Niall Nelis a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Chinablack were close to equalising with a spectacular free kick by
Roy Peoples after 30 minutes, but
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman made a great save, tipping it to a corner.
Hsiao Tzung pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, after 35 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 66 percent of possession.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 61 minutes into the match left Grilled's
Hidde van Liere completely free to score. 1 - 2 for the visitors. 69 minutes into the game,
Hsiao Tzung finished off a left wing counter attack, scoring 2 - 2 for Chinablack.
Ola Martinsson really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by
Au-Yong Siu-Yue after a corner. Many thought
Niall Nelis ought to have been awarded a penalty shot 77 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman after a determined run through the middle. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.
As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. With 92 minutes played, Grilled's
Jon Andrea Rottman fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Jon Andrea Rottman for diving.
Ola Martinsson had a good try after 100 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. The result was still a draw, so the match had to be settled with penalties.
Chinablack's
Roy Peoples was seemingly taken by the gravity of the moment, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman. Score still 2 - 2. Boy, does
Sylweriusz Zywczyn of Grilled know how to treat a football or what?! He's curled that shot past the keeper and into the top corner of the goal - a great penalty! 2 - 3. Chinablack's
Niall Nelis penalty shot was very well placed but
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 2 - 3. Boy, does
Ola Martinsson of Grilled know how to treat a football or what?! He's curled that shot past the keeper and into the top corner of the goal - a great penalty! 2 - 4. Chinablack's
Hsiao Tzung penalty shot was very well placed but
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 2 - 4. Grilled's
Jörgen Falkbo coolly put the ball past
Mohd Zaharul Aiman bin Mat Arif. 2 - 5. Chinablack's
Thomas Pettersson penalty shot was very well placed but
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 2 - 5. Grilled's
Shen Kek-Tjiang cockily booted the ball with a short-and-fast instep. The penalty, going just wide of the mark, didn't produce a goal. Chinablack's
LuÃs Rua penalty shot was very well placed but
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 2 - 5. Grilled's
Fabian Bona coolly put the ball past
Mohd Zaharul Aiman bin Mat Arif. 2 - 6.
Chinablack's best player was
Hsiao Tzung.
Thomas Pettersson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman.
Jörgen Falkbo on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 6.
