Boars 1 - 3 Grilled
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 5058 at FC Boars Arena today.
霍 (Huo) 聪榕 (Congrong) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Boe Bundgaard and
José Ferraz. Boars started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. They fielded: Condezo - Klyuchnik, Bravo, Bataller, MacPhedron, Kuys - Wappler, O'Connell, Schreurs, Latella - Morar.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Bao-Tam - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Liehner - Spirig, Han Kok, Jie Siong, Borup, Paullin - Hjortlind, Hobson.
Boars immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Boars pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. 15 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. Scorer for Boars was
Sorin Morar. Grilled levelled the score after 19 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as
Lan Tuan-Mu struck home after a fine midfield combination through the middle, leaving him completely unmarked. 32 minutes into the match Grilled's
Terkel Borup head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Halftime score was 1 - 1. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 51 percent possession of the ball.
Marcus Liehner came close to putting the visiting team one up 57 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
Graciano Condezo managed to tip the ball to a corner.
Antonio Bravo behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 76 minutes as he gave the ball away to

Tim Hobson. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave Grilled the lead 82 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 51 percent of possession.
After the regular 90 minutes, the agony of overtime followed. Boars were very close to putting themselves one up after 101 minutes as
Chris O'Connell got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. The result was still a draw, so the match had to be settled with penalties.
Boars's
Sorin Morar was seemingly taken by the gravity of the moment, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of
Hang Bao-Tam. Score still 1 - 1. Grilled's

Hang Bao-Tam. Score still 1 - 3. Grilled's
Hang Bao-Tam cockily booted the ball with a short-and-fast instep. The penalty, going just wide of the mark, didn't produce a goal.
Most important Boars player was
Ross MacPhedron. However,
Mario Latella made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was
Quah Han Kok.

Tim Hobson was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
