Xings 0 - 4 Grilled
877 spectators had come to Big Dipp3r this cloudy day.
Daniel Hernandez was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nordin Hertzberger and
Louis Rouse. Xings tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. They fielded: bin Mohd Idrus - Sathiamoorthy, Guerrero, Sackmann, Rodríguez - Chavero, de Beer, Eneman - Delgado, Aarts, Thomas.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Harlow - Alcántara, Bona, Falkbo - van Liere, Siu-Yue, Kek-Tjiang, Rottman, Dai-Lin - Langeland, Martinsson.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Xings. It was an obvious ambition of Grilled to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. 6 minutes into the game,
Hidde van Liere almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. With 17 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
Jon Andrea Rottman put the ball away for 0 - 1. The visitors'
Jan Langeland took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 21 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Grilled. With 23 minutes played, Xings's
Fernando Guerrero fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Fernando Guerrero for diving.
Jon Andrea Rottman increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Grilled's
Hidde van Liere got himself booked for a foul. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 68 percent of possession.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Jörgen Falkbo was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 49 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With 78 minutes played, Grilled's
Jan Langeland fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Jan Langeland for diving. After 81 minutes,
Bengt Eneman had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Xings with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Grilled's
Ola Martinsson missed a penalty shot 82 minutes into the contest. The shot produced was way too weak, allowing the keeper to collect it at his own leisure. With 85 minutes having been played, Grilled's
Jan Langeland had to leave the pitch after receiving his second booking.
Ola Martinsson increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 4 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 68 percent of possession.
The most dominating Xings player was without a doubt
Fernando Guerrero.
Víctor Chavero was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was
Shen Kek-Tjiang.
Luis Alcántara was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
