Brought in to forge a balanced partnership with king of goals Ola Martinsson, Langeland had to fill some hearts after displacing precarious young forward Ulf Hjortlind. He never quite succeeded, and was often seen as the sidekick to Ola Martinsson, no thanks to the latter's supreme scoring consistency.

Not too many tears were shed when Langeland headed back to Norway aged just 24, other than from the finance department after it was realised that he had depreciated to the tune of S$4 million on the transfer market.
