Grilled International boss Sazwan bin Hj Muhd Salleh was sad to see the longtime Number Five leave, with Egidius having collected 214 appearances and 102 goals in his thirteen seasons at the club, along with two Player of the Season honours. "He has been a part of us for so long, but it had to come to an end someday. We wish him all the best, of course."

As for Egidius himself, he confessed that his new base had raised some concerns about safety with his family back home, but added that being closer to them was a consolation. "Day trips to visit are possible now."
