Bergervoet Exit
Grilled International divested themselves of 29 year-old Curaçao star
Remond Bergervoet for S$4 million, or four hundred thousand less than they had paid ProdigyTeam for him, as a nineteen year-old. Bergervoet was not displeased with the transfer on his part, given that he will now play for Czech První liga challenger Sparta Ostřetín, and have a real shot at some top-level trophies.
Head coach
Sazwan bin Hj Muhd Salleh was happy for Bergervoet, while admitting that his increasingly-large salary demands had been a key factor in allowing him to leave. "That's nearly a hundred and fifty thousand off the weekly wage bill, which we have come under heavy pressure to cut all the more with on-field performances being what they are. This is just the beginning, by the way, as we build a new team from the ground up."
Kyler Yim's free transfer to Swedish V.116 side Fridhem United was rather quieter, as he joined seven other youngsters in Joni Vilkkinen's recruitment drive some nine days after turning seventeen. Yim had been known for being a reliable defensive midfielder in his time with the Chicken Wings, who he signed up with soon after being cut from Sarcastic Fringeheads' Sabre Toothed Blennies.
Wings scout Mok Feng De described Yim as a good-natured lad, but very driven once on the pitch. "He treats football as a job, and is very dedicated to his work. You won't find much flashy about Kyler, but there are few more dependable."
