Savannah Hobbits
Guyana III.3 club FC SAVANNAH and Belgian VI.442 side Hobbits FC came in for some youth players today, with FC SAVANNAH contracting with Grilled Birds to take two of their academy lads on free transfers. Utility man Safri Ghani and prospective forward/defender Lo Kuan Chun might not have been high on scouting lists, but they caught the eye of Finnish gaffer Jukka Arponen - admittedly together with a horde of other youngsters.
Lim Hock Puay, who had brought both into the Wings fold, could not complain. "It's a tight market now, and simply getting a foot in is more than many talents have managed."
18 year-old Grilled International playmaker Chu Jian Fu was conversely rather more highly rated, and Hobbits FC would have to contend with Dutch Division Six outfit JK29 for his signature. Chu, who had recorded a hat-trick against Israeli opponents Noams Children not long ago, was likewise regarded as an exceptional prospect by Bees scout Daud bin Radiman.
"Other than the usual midfield tools, Chu defends passably well, and has well above-average positioning." Daud assessed. "If he continues working hard, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a regular soon."
