Soon 5 - 4 Grilled

It had rained all day, but 14011 hardy fans still made it out to Olympic Lyons Park. Miljan Jaredić was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Axel Frohnweiler and Virgiliu Călbureanu. The wet pitch made it difficult for technical or quick players to stand out. For once, the players relying on physical strength gained the upper hand. The match took place on neutral ground. They fielded: Jing Kum - bin Vincent Nordin, Xochotl - Bellonzi, Humeau, Yardani, Geller, Muntz - Boute, Poirier, Paprotny.

The following players took the field: Batâr - 中北 (Nakakita), 入江 (Irie) - Künzler, Saliman, Davlatov, Muthyala, Romijn - Xin Lee, Mudaliar, Parvathaneni.

The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. Salleh bin Vincent Nordin's inexperience was obvious when his continual hesitation to put in a tackle allowed Vikram Mudaliar plenty of time to pick an unguarded area of the goal for his shot, marking one for Grilled. 0 - 1. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 26 minutes gave Soon a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and Yoann Humeau stepped up to the challenge. 1 - 1 Soon's Gadi Geller got himself booked for a foul. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. 1 - 2 was the score with 36 minutes played, after Vikram Mudaliar cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 37 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Florus Romijn a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3. The Soon free kick 38 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of Salleh bin Vincent Nordin, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 3! After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 42 minutes into the match, an alert Michel Daniel Boute bagged the ball for Soon, levelling the score to 3 - 3. 3 - 3 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie) was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 53 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! Patrice Poirier gave Soon the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 4 - 3 After 60 minutes, Grilled switched 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie) with Hoàng Trung Quá, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Hoàng Trung Quá was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. 71 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Gadi Geller broke through, making the score 5 - 3 for Soon. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Kalki Parvathaneni got himself booked. The manager of Grilled was not happy. 75 minutes into the match, Grilled replied and reduced the lead to 5 - 4. Kalki Parvathaneni scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. With 89 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Iman Eshrafi came on, Kalki Parvathaneni had to leave the fray. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 5 - 4. Grilled had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

Most important Soon player was Abdelhaye Yardani. Yoann Humeau on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Iman Eshrafi. On the other hand, Valentin Batâr's play was disheartening.
