Grilled 4 - 3 JUtd

ather conditions were fairly good for football, and The Cooking Pot saw a crowd turnout of 83504. Avishay Antebi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Felix Slováček and Czesław Ścieszka. The derby had been the talk of Jurong all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Grilled started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Stacey - 福泉 (Fuquan) , Madaini - bin Jantan, 尊文 (Zunwen) , Djekshenkulov, 长春 (Changchun), Shun An - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for JUtd. Lineup: Gröne - Gabriël, Azambuja, Domínguez - Guridi, Sarayköy, Barcellos, Gwizd, Grønkjær - 尔福 (Erfu) , Senesi.

Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Qassem Madaini caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 3 minutes. This gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. JUtd managed, after 9 minutes, to even the score at 1 - 1 with a lucky free kick by Rasmus Grønkjær. Somehow the ball squirmed its way through the defensive wall! Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. They were singing the praises of Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim 15 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Grilled. After 16 minutes, Qassem Madaini sent the corner kick right to Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim who headed it sharply past the keeper. 3 - 1! The home crowd just couldn't believe it when Qassem Madaini missed a penalty after 27 minutes of the match. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Grilled had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

There was concern in the stands when, at the 68 minute mark, Grilled's Woon Shun An hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed JUtd's coach gave Lin Kian Jing the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Rosemiro Barcellos reluctantly left the field. 71 minutes into the match, JUtd replied and reduced the lead to 3 - 2. 姚 (Yao) 尔福 (Erfu) scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. Grilled solidified their lead at the 76 minute mark, as 朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun) dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 2. JUtd's João Joaquim Azambuja got himself booked for a foul. JUtd reduced the lead after 81 minutes to 4 - 3 as Gerardo Senesi easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. Grilled's Chow Ying Lee swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Abdul bin Jantan left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 88 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Alex Fonseca was the replacement. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. However, Alex Fonseca made a disastrous appearance. Gerardo Senesi performed admirably for JUtd. On the other hand, Antonio Guridi's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 3.
