Niculae Stanca's call and found himself a new mission, one with Russian Division Five club KabanbI. He had completed six seasons with the Birds, mostly in partnership with
Qassem Madaini, but revealed that he had grown dissatisfied with his increasing number of substitute appearances.
"I kept quiet about it for the team, but now that I'm leaving, it can be said. I see myself as being one of the first defenders on the teamsheet wherever I go, and since Grilled can no longer provide me with that assurance, it is best that I find a new club."
KabanbI met Grilled's S$1.2 million valuation of Lin, and the transfer went through without delay. Lin expects to start against FC S/M on Sunday, as his new Moscow club chase Pomi d'oro, who once sold Dutch cult hero Maikel Rotteveel to the Birds, for the league title.
