The first day of the Trophy of Legends was Chia Kwang Tse's as he scored in all three contests to help Grilled Birds to two wins and a draw, leaving them in 641st position amongst 5434 registered teams. Swedish IIo side BK Gefle were a tough first test, and indeed went two up after Hungarian Number One Norbert Keczeli somehow denied a near-flawless Raúl Himadas free-kick. Aw Keng Chuan and Paulino Trindade had the Birds level by half-time following much gritty approach work, and Chia Kwang Tse took over the second half with a brace, before Odomar Giessen got one back for 5-4.

Bulgarian IV.11 champions Gremina, on a roll with eight straight competitive wins, were next, and Chad Thach's eighth minute opener would be followed by two from Gremina in the ninth. It was again another strong second wind from the Birds, with Lim An Keng building on Chia's 64th minute equalizer from Trindade's deep, looping cross, but Vasil Lulov drew level four minutes from time, again after another close-to-impossible stop, this time by Clive Woolliams off another top-class Himadas delivery.

It would be far smoother sailing against Polish VI.18 entrants Nielba Wągrowiec in contrast, as they let in six without reply, and with nary a sniff after a seventh minute scare by Swedish Number Nine, Stefan Dehlstad. Himadas would have to be content with two assists, the first from a corner in the 22nd for Chia, before finding Brian Reddy from an interesting free-kick routine.

The Farmer Bunnies would be undefeated two, with their two draws putting them 561st of 1316 in the Heroes of 2014 Trophy... with two goals scored and none conceded. Hardly much fun, definitely, as the Buns collected full points from German V.81 club 1. FC Naggenum to start their tournament. Lau Keng Kwang soloed from the right wing in the 38th minute, before a magnificent curling free-kick by Arturo Rosano past an admittedly hobbling Luigi Caricasulo, in the 82nd minute.

There would be nothing doing against either Honduran two-time Copa Consolación Peor es nada winners Gold Star Football, or German fifth divisioners Sprungfeld FC Atome, even if the Stars were probably the better team in their clash. The Buns caught a break when combustible midfielder Arévalo Latorre got sent off in the 80th minute after a second yellow given for deliberate handball, but then had to watch as Arvind Shah dropped the ball right in front of Nurullah Dönmez from a routine trap. Fortunately, the Bulgarian forward was as surprised as anyone.

Atome were a lot quieter, and Farmer Bunnies could have taken it this had they been tighter with their counterattacks. Amaya Ravula had the best chance of the match in the 52nd minute, but goalkeeper Maik Hölzenbein pounced across goal quickly; Arturo Rosano had his attempts too, but the Germans would survive barely.

Grilled International suffered the only defeat of the day, but exceeded the Buns' point haul with two wins for 846th of 2560 participants in the Heroes of 2017 Trophy. This came in their first fixture against Polish V.254 contestants The Crystal, who took the lead four times, finally winning it through Belgian fullback Goffrey Danse with four minutes left. Leri Bezhanishvili might have tied it up on a free-kick next, but his swirling right-footer went half a yard wide.

Italian VI.844 team Amletico Dilemmadrid went down 2-4 after going two up by the 27th minute, with Canadian striker Matt Hanke excelling early. Chua Jun Long had International back in the lead eight minutes on, however, aided by a textbook Bezhanishvili penalty. Egidius van der Duin closed it off in the second half, with International unlucky not to add to their haul in added time.

There would be seven goals against French sixth division hopefuls LA GRESSOISE, who had coincidentally defeated Portuguese VI.79 side Belitasuper by the same margin in the previous round. Umut Koza nicked it past Oronzo Longobardi in the third minute, and Redhuan bin Mohd Aleshahfezan took over, nearly bagging a hat-trick.
