Who's Your Daday?

Grilled's atrocious away run went on as they lost their third away game in a row, this time to CharlesCheesePie, who fought back from a goal down to take all the points. Part of it could be put down to an off-day by the forwards, who were badly anonymous throughout.
Dutch custodian Bernie Vollaers failed a late fitness test for the hosts, leaving Austrian stand-in Rene Takacs to take his place. With a full squad available, Grilled decided on a 3-4-3, with Gleb Dorogan being relegated to the bench for an extra defender.

Grilled were looking to keep things tight and nick it on the break, and kept to the plan magnificently in the first half. Takacs did well to ward off former South Korean U-20 international Kyou-Chull Kim's curling attempt, but Kim learnt his lesson and powered it in on the second try, after staking out space on the right side of the box.

The defence put in its shift too, and Lin Jungui went through Haji bin Yusop after taking the ball, forcing trainee Meng Jiajun on for the experienced 33 year-old.

Meng would play above expectations as the game drew on, and he created CharlesCheesePie's best chance of the match, by cleverly seeking Wong Chang De out after Bottino delivered a good corner. Wong was put off by Behr's charge, however, and sliced his shot wide.

The home fans were getting impatient, but came out in full voice after trickster Quirze Sans completely outfoxed Yvan Lefébure after being placed in a one-on-one with the French midfielder, who lost his feet under himself. Grilled head coach Han Lik-Tsun, who had been sitting smugly up till then, immediately ordered Dorogan on in place of Behr.

It turned out to be a bad substitution, as Dorogan was unable to mesh with his teammates on short order, and Grilled were left defending desperately on the restart. Valdir did well to keep Romanian winger János Daday from instantly putting his team ahead, but could do nothing four minutes later when Daday pulled past Jungui and dipped in a delightful lob.
