Endstation Star
The second day of the Trophy of Legends saw Grilled get off with a 3-0 win over Lithuanian V.102 side Bebriukai, with
Paulino Trindade setting the stage for second-half finishes from
Chan Ze Han and
Chia Kwang Tse. Bebriukai sent some pulses racing with several dynamic counterattacks late int the match, but could not close the distance before Chia put the game to bed from a corner.
Swedish Division Four club lång stars managed a two-all draw next, as
Lim An Keng stole the limelight with a quality brace from direct running. Giorgio Accettullo would tie it up in the 82nd minute, unfortunately for the Birds, who would go on to crash spectacularly against German VI.78 runners-up Endstation Uraha. Italian veteran Federico Cotugno detonated with a hat-trick, as
Chad Thach got sent off in injury time after lashing out in frustration.
"Endstation were something else altogether."
Chan Ze Han shook his head. "I'm afraid it will be hard going, until we redevelop our attack from ground up."
There was an improvement for the Buns, though they did start out with a defeat inflicted by Dutch VI.239 club ENTOS. A disciplined press combined with Olivier Klein's deadliness resulted in a 3-1 for ENTOS, as the Dutchman finessed his way to a treble.
Jerad Meyer did keep things interesting, as he got one back on a sharp left-sided counter right before half-time came.
Two 1-0 wins followed, as Romanian sixth divisioners gusterii nebuni were put away by
Vishnu Tallapaka in the 74th, as the 42 year-old curled it around Dorin Tătărăşanu. He then repeated the feat against Brazilian V.114 side Real Tricolor too, if from a surprise free-kick instead.
"I don't know what Vishnu's made of." trainee defender
Amirul Jufri Khairil said admiringly. "Maybe he'll still be kicking around five years later!"
It was a loss first too for International, who were punished 0-4 by Swedish IIl club AS Sörmarken, with Sammy Sjöberg orchestrating from midfield. This was hardly an insult given the level of competition, granted, and
Querubim Santos Couto would gain the satisfaction of turning Anders Gangbom's 53rd minute penalty aside to boot.
Things got better against Polish VI.998 winners KS Robaczki, who hung with International exchanging goals until the 65th minute, when Hadi Bazzaz's brave diving header made it 3-3. There would be no further reprisals after
Chua Jun Long sashayed through to bury it in the bottom corner in the 70th minute, however, and
Safari bin Hj Jali made doubly sure before
Hardi bin Besar got the sixth in time added on.
German fourth divisioners Purer Realist were then dealt a 1-4, with
Wang Hanxuan and
Li Xin Chi getting off to two early goals, before Matthieu Lesinda stormed in against the run of play.
Sazwan bin Hj Muhd Salleh restored the two-goal advantage before half-time, however, and
Osertz Indurain added the pizzaz with an improvised overhead kick in the 59th.
