Suiza Catchout

There would be another defeat to open the day for Grilled in the Trophy of Legends, as they fell by the odd goal to Swiss Division Four club Honduras - Suiza. The Zurich team could give as good as they got, and with Iranian goalkeeper Farbod Changanian making several top saves - including one of particular note against Bernie Egan in the 31st minute - they achieved first a 3-1 lead at half-time, which went up to 5-2 by the 59th minute. Egan and Moey would follow up on Salah Kamel's brace later on, but ran out of time.

Belgian V.162 side de captains would feel the bulk of the Birds' wrath at crashing out of playoff contention, with Jimi Tuohenmaa's finish their only consolation in a 1-6 wrecking. There would be an interesting pair of penalties in the home third, with Webb first converting one in the 65th, before he was subbed off for Bhavya Panigrahi, who smashed a second high into the top corner in the 77th. Douglas Carapaica would then chip in literally versus Chilean fifth divisioners DestajadoresUC, with Chan Ze Han then taking over in leading Grilled to a 4-0 whitewash.

This however leaves Grilled Birds 1462nd of 6942 clubs after two losses, but Hilal Bakhtiar wasn't too bothered. "These things happen, better it now than when it matters."

Farmer Bunnies managed to go unbeaten on the second day of their own trials, but their two draws meant that they actually wound up the worse for it, points-wise. Their day began with a total nullification against Turkish IV.26 representatives Kaledenspor, who had Geoffrey L’Hostis behind two banks of five. There would at least be goals in the game with Polish Division Five side Jagielonia Bialystok, with Mushtag Al-Nameeri and then newcomer Vitaliy Efendiev finding the equalizers, in a 2-2 affair.

37 year-old Russian forward Nurlan Ablaev scored the only goal as the Buns beat Tunisian II.3 club Club Africain Capitale in between, but it was a bittersweet one, given that Ablaev then revealed that he was almost certain to leave the club, by the start of the new season. "There's not much time left in my footballing career, and I would like one last experience before retirement." he explained.

Grilled International went heavy on the draws too, first a 2-2 against Belgian sixth divisioners F.C Kmoenaartwc, in which Safari bin Hj Jali had to save them with just five minutes remaining. They were odds-on to defeat Spanish V.181 outfit At. Vilasanes too, but again let the opportunity slip, this time through horrendous defending that allowed Noé Pinto Antunes and Loukou Keïta to score, in the last ten minutes.

An already-unamused Didi Reidenbach would turn apoplectic as his charges crashed miserably against Lobos Nueva Generación of the Guatemalan III.7 next. Osertz Indurain appeared to have turned International's fates around with his brilliant 13th minute finish following assured dominance, but it would be all the way downhill after that, as the match concluded with International being naively baited out, before falling prey to Ramón Bermúdez's counter for 1-4.

"There will be no days off granted, that's for sure." the head coach simmered. "I fear that some of the responsibility will have to be mine - but only some."
