Exit The Matrix
Feng Gets One
Youth winger
Feng Darong popped up with his first professional goal, as Grilled recovered some of their tattered confidence with a steamrolling of Matrix101. Key strikers Rotteveel and Subri were especially determined to get going again after inexplicably drawing a blank against Arrogancae, and both managed to do so.
Grilled did not take too long to start things going against the all-local opponents, as Bulgarian midfielder
Ivaylo Mirchev belted in a fast corner kick that was expertly flipped into the top corner of the Matrix101 goal, past a stranded Nor Suhaimi bin Mohamed.
Rotteveel soon added the second from a breaking run down the left, but Subri then ruled himself out for Sunday's league game with a silly bit of retaliation after Peng San Gui brought him down heavily. The Malaysian didn't take it lightly and tapped the ball into his assailiant, leading to both parties involved being booked.
Lan Tuan-Mu, after scoring the previous week, continued where he left off as his calmness led to him picking up an easy third.
Feng Darong then had Deme to thank as the Polish winger scooped the ball wide to him after a good run down the left, and the academy product didn't let his teammate down as he placed the ball in at the near post.
The second half was played at a slightly more placid pace, with Rotteveel an exception in the few seconds that he accelerated past the entire Matrix101 defence to grab Grilled's fifth. A piece of bad judgement by
Weng Seng-Huat nearly spoilt the game, though, when he closed his legs around the 38 year-old Wira bin Abu and sent him tumbling in a blatant foul.
That nearly got Weng mobbed despite his attempts to apologize, and not even an instant yellow fully mollified the opposition players. Mirchev was crudely felled just a couple of minutes after taking a successful penalty kick by Mohamed Rafeek bin Rahman, who accepted his booking as a matter of course.
Some measure of goodwill appeared to return after this crude one-for-one exchange, and Subri was able to flick in Grilled's seventh goal, thanks to some smart holding up of play by
Tao Tingfeng on the right. Matrix101 should have gotten a late goal after Ahmad Tharmini played a crazy ball across the goalmouth despite Valdir being right next to him, but substitute Chua Kian Feng stuck out the wrong leg and missed an absolute sitter.
