Ravula Anointed
Lee Yau Tong's promotion to the senior squad would be followed immediately by that of
Amaya Ravula, who thus joins Lee and
Lim Guang Qiang as this season's lucky graduates from the Rancher Rabbits. Ravula's versatility in the youth leagues had supposedly gotten him on the radar of the national U-20 scouts already, a rumour which the club is however refusing to confirm.
Ravula's raw skill could not be concealed, though, and it is not out of the question that his blend of defensive steel, positional sense when pushing into midfield and ready eye for a pass might have brought him attention from the higher-ups. Being granted Tham Leng Teck's last-worn Number 42 must be a further sign of how prized he is by the club - a honour that the 17 year-old will strive to live up to.
