Making his way up the middle 26 minutes into the match, Egemen Dinçer Ferzan almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Barthélémy Zénon blocked it to keep the score level. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 37 minutes, Grilled did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 80 percent.

Christof Hauri would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Jolan Prestat entered the game for Fribourg as the match clock showed 46 minutes. The Fribourg captaincy was handed to Alfons Schmidi. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Fribourg coach decided it was time for a substitution. Franco Attiger reluctantly made way for Phillip Baggenstos on the pitch. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Fribourg substitution. Loïc Brendle came on for Silvère Fauconnier. With Teo Chuan Yong no longer on the pitch, Moey Xin Seng became the new set pieces taker. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Moey Xin Seng took over the role of being the Grilled captain. With 73 minutes played, Grilled's Moey Xin Seng almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Grilled increased the lead as Chia Kwang Tse struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. Mohd Marzuki Khairul had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 89 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. The match ends 3 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 79 percent of the time.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Moey Xin Seng. On the other hand, Radovan Jaška's play was disheartening. The most dominating Fribourg player was without a doubt Jolan Prestat. However, Barthélémy Zénon made a disastrous appearance.
