Twenty2 0 - 4 Grilled
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 12000 to
Buangkok Square.
John Aziakou was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Brandon Maida and
Carlo Maria Matrice. Twenty2 fielded:
khairul Hadi -
Won,
Eng Kwang,
Tran -
Rasydan,
Bangara,
Lai Qiang,
Yong Kong,
Ahmad Fikri -
Fakhry,
Jing Jia.
The following players had been chosen by Grilled:
Law -
Mohammad Harun,
Keng Chuan,
Chuan Yong -
田宮 (Tamiya),
An Keng,
Teck Fu,
Khairul,
Baena -
Ze Han,
Xin Seng.
Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 3-5-2 formation. Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul could have put the guests one up after 12 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
Muneer khairul Hadi was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. Grilled took the lead after 38 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
Moey Xin Seng placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Tabari Asyraf Ahmad Fikri from Twenty2 a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 42 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Teo Chuan Yong of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 43 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Enrique Baena was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 43 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. 44 minutes into the game a free kick by
Bilal Mohammad Harun found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Grilled's lead 0 - 3. 44 minutes in, Grilled's
Moey Xin Seng received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. Grilled had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
Lim An Keng would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Chia Kwang Tse entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
Teo Chuan Yong after 47 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal. After 50 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Mohd Marzuki Khairul a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Hwang Teck Fu delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 58 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
Chan Ze Han left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
Prokop Mottl was the replacement. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes,
Chad Thach came on for
Moey Xin Seng. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Bilal Mohammad Harun took over the role of being the Grilled captain. 61 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 0 - 4. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.
The most dominating Twenty2 player was without a doubt
Azam Fakhry. On the other hand,
Lim Eng Kwang's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was
Prokop Mottl.
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) was a disappointment, however.
