The Chicken Wings and Rancher Rabbits academies held their first friendly in five seasons, with the Rabbits again coming out on top in a 6-3 win. Quite interestingly, their roles would be reversed from their senior sides, with Wings clearly playing on the counter... despite being in the same 2-5-3 as the hosts. Wings midfielder Nicklaus Tang's development was clearly coming on well, as he bagged twice, but the best players of the day were clearly Rabbits strikers Ang Choon Leng and Ang Aik Chin (unrelated).

Both Angs are, however, also running out of time at this level, and Bunnies assistant coach Fauzi Zahirul Haq is pushing for them to kickstart their senior careers. "They are consistently impressing at the U-18 level, but to continue improving, they have to pit themselves against better opposition. And for that, I'm not sure how much more we can help, in the academy."

Fauzi would also break the news that after Lim Su Liang, 27 year-old Richard Agyei had also entered consideration for Ghana's national team. "Agyei's represented his country five times at youth level, so he's not exactly an unknown. It does suggest that we have been doing a few things right in these tough times, at least. We will be depending a lot more on him in coming seasons."

The Busy Bees lost in their own friendly in France against Ajax Bordeaux, youth division of Ajax Brooklyn Boogie, which had Abu Bakar bin Harmi spare them the blushes in a 1-4 drumming. The Bees seldom looked like even getting near Sohibou Sylla's goal against the much better-organized Ajax, who had Éric Le Mouellic make a dream debut with two sharp finishes.
