Wan Loong Chang and Phua Keong Kim had not been regarded as particularly bright talents when recruited by Italian sixth division club Ledrense some four seasons ago, but Ledrense have definitely done right by the former Birds and Bunnies trainees: Wan would collect twenty-five U-20 caps, and Phua seventeen, by the time their respective youth international careers were over. Grilled Birds would moreover receive a nice 2% cut of Wan's S$11.1 million transfer fee to Polish VI.831 side Niespodzianka, the move of which was completed today.

Grilled man-in-charge Hilal Bakhtiar revealed that he had explored all avenues to bring Wan back to the Birds, but had been mainly stymied by a lack of funds, after the S$14 million purchase of Douglas Carapaica. "Wan is the kind of 21 year-old we could well do with more of." Bakhtiar commented. "He has monstrous playmaking ability for his age, for which we have to credit Ledrense. I for one will be following his exploits with great interest."
