Siu, Nordin To Europe
Two youth players made their move today, first amongst them Grilled Birds' Siu Wai Shi, who would be the subject of an extended tug-of-war between Polish sixth division side NeVeS Club de Fútbol, and Belgian VI.615 club eumaxboys. Slovenian Division Five outfit NK Etterbeek poked around for a bit too, but it was really between NeVeS and the Boys.
It would eventually be NeVeS Club de Fútbol who won out with a S$26000 offer, which while not particularly high, was something that the Birds were happy to accept. "Siu is a rare multiskilled gem, and personally I'm sorry that we couldn't keep him." Lim Hock Puay, who scouted him, said. "Although he's best as a playmaker, he understands just about every aspect of the game about as well as any other kid I've come across. If he were a physical beast too, we'd be looking into the millions here."
Grilled International's supplicant would be Hj Nordin bin Hj Abdul Lamit, also freshly graduated from the academy at seventeen, who would find a new home in Amsterdam with Toto17. The Division Five side's stability attracted Hj Nordin over an opportunity in Sri Lanka with third divisioners CF Lanka, and the defensive midfielder will fancy his chances with head coach Mike Flendern clearly after youth development.
