Timbang Goes Milan
Hot Busy Bees midfield prospect Timbang bin Hj Mohd Hendra was signed by ambitious Italian eighth divisioners Prenza, who laid out S$278000 for the 17 year-old. An accomplished header and all-around solid playmaker, Timbang had been lauded as the best the Bees had to offer for awhile, and has already gotten mentioned by those involved in the Brunei U-20 setup.
It is not known if Timbang will stay for too long, with Graziano Amore having a reputation for constantly refreshing his squad. However, if the experience of recent departures Adam Craddock and Patryk Boniakowski - among others - are anything to go by, he would probably simply get a boost on the valuation front, together with a higher-profile employer.
Not that Timbang should have much trouble getting offers, that said. German Division Three side VEB Getränkekombinat were fully prepared to have him on a free transfer, as were Maltese III.6 frontrunners molta malta, but he wasn't quite ready to trade a likely hefty signing bonus for prestige just yet. Soon enough, FC Bern96 (Swiss Division Six), AS Galaxy United (Italian Division Five), FC Dantes (Bulgarian Division Five), tchoutchou_power_team (French Division Five) and Nusaybin FK (Turkish Division Six) indeed chipped in with improved contracts.
Timbang seemed headed for Spanish fourth division club The Dunbars, after all that, and what with them having recently paid over a combined S$40 million for Colombian goalkeeper Carlos Antonio Bedoya and former Polish youth international Krzysztof Rymarczyk, Timbang would have had no lack of inspiration. In the end, he would go for a far more guaranteed path to regular playing time, which his coaches could hardly fault him for.
Chicken Wings hopeful Khairil Kamil would land a free transfer to French Division Six club FC Cuire Le Bas about the same time, and while the defensive midfielder drew much less fanfare, senior scout Tham Beng Li pegged him to shine in Jean-Paul Bodin's newly-assembled team. "Khairil has strong basics, and an excellent attitude about him. That should take him far."
