Tambusai Incoming
Dalibor Kostadinović kept on with the promised rebuilding process, as
Aitykul Zaripbekov's arrival would be followed by that of former Indonesian youth international fullback
Djoko Tambusai, from Ukraine's Bumblebee_RS. Tambusai had distinguished himself in his season there, which accounted for a S$4.5 million boost in his transfer fee, from that paid to Israel's Aristo Cats.
While still somewhat behind the record S$15 million paid to Joker 9 for
Morgan Hu, Kostadinović admitted that the fee was steep - if worth it - for a 21 year-old. "Tambusai is a complete attacking wingback already. We are beginning to have trouble there, what with Tham and Kwek getting on in years and becoming increasingly injury-prone. He'll add a much-needed freshness to that department."
Defensively, Tambusai has built a good reputation too, as from his showing as a substitute sweeper for Indonesia against Lebanon in a nil-all draw, which was also his only youth international appearance. This brought early attention from Mustache CF (Andorran H.I. Division Five) and VfL05 Grötzingen (German Division Five), but it was ultimately Polish V.211 leaders Cisy Cisowianka Nałęczów that contested the Bunnies for his signature.
This signing was entirely to
Richard Agyei's liking, as it went. "We need all the reinforcements we can get, right now."
