Odda Man Out
Grilled Birds trainee Chirag Odda would pick out the Number Thirteen shirt of fresh new Greek fifth division outfit ZeusOriginal F.C., as Dantis Palompalopoulos sought to assemble a squad of hungry younglings. Their spiffy yellow-and-black kit certainly fit the 17 year-old fullback well, in his first official photos.
Now, Odda was another of those considered a long shot to make it by his coaches at the Chicken Wings, but it appears that his early specialization has served him well. "Chirag doesn't often stand out, but he's been very steady, very reliable, at the back." assistant coach Nuh Alawee Ramli said. "His teammates can depend on him to be where he's supposed to be, and I guess ZeusOriginal liked that."
While the lad was over the moon at getting his break, it has to be said that Palompalopoulos is known for running a tight ship, and his first signing Anaximandros Mpaxevanakis may already be on the way out. Odda refused to dwell too much on possibilities, though. "What will be, will be."
