Hamzah Abdul Gets Break
19 year-old Grilled International apprentice Hamzah Abdul bin Hj Mohd Idris would move on to Swiss seventh division side Bonzteam today, after spending nearly a full season training with the reserves and youth side. To be entirely honest, most of his youth coaches didn't expect him to be picked up due to his age, but Hamzah Abdul would beat the odds yet again.
"Abdillah and Hafiz did warn me that I was probably wasting my time - and they were probably correct." the new Bonzteam forward said. "But I told them, I wanted to do this, I just ain't the type to walk away. So they gave me until the end of the season, and well, everybody's happy now."
Indeed, Hamzah Abdul has a history of not taking no for an answer, and would force his way into the Busy Bees academy after having been refused by Brunei Division Two club Krajnški vevri, and then the Brunei Cubs. The trainers at the Bees would respect his dedication, but the criticism that he was too one-dimensional never quite went away.
Anyhow, it isn't their problem any longer, and assistant coach Abdillah bin Mohd had to give it to the man. "Hamzah's proven me wrong once, why not again?"
