Birthday Salleh
Grilled International's Salleh bin Hj Mohd Yusof moved on a free transfer to Philippines H.I. V.233 side Global Queen City F.C. on his eighteenth birthday, as their Finnish head coach Roman Eremenko went on a Bruneian recruiting spree. Other than Salleh, Eremenko's agents signed three other trainees on their trip here, which means that Salleh should not lack for company.
Salleh's scout Zulfadly bin Hj Ratano hinted that he had some areas yet to develop, though, even at the youth level. "Salleh is as fast as ever, but I sadly can't say the same of the other facets of his game yet. His speed may tide him over a few years yet, but it won't do so forever."
Meanwhile, Rancher Rabbits topped their new youth league - the aspirationally-named "best league" - with an 8-0 home dismantling of New Zealand club Alviantis United's U-20 side, The Laboratory. Sabran Rais and Lee Rong Ming had braces, in this opening round contest. Assistant coach Fauzi Zahirul Haq thought it an auspicious start, after a fourth-placed finish in the Liga Mistrzów Juniorów with 62 points from 30 matches, eight behind winners St Augustine.
"The Liga Mistrzów Juniorów was a very good experience, it was just time to move on." Fauzi noted. "Gotta keep stuff fresh!"
