Yeo TuS Germany
Eighteen year-old Farmer Bunnies trainee Yeo Siong Ying was picked up by rebranded German seventh division club TuS Hartenholm, as they seek to start again from scratch. The sturdy playmaker would have the distinction of being Marbert von Böhm-Bawerk's first acquisition, to be followed shortly afterwards by Taiwanese winger Zheng Haiming, and Belgian midfield organizer Sjarel Boogaerts.
Yeo had been known for his uncompromising approach in his U-20 games with the Rancher Rabbits, an attitude probably derived from his well-built frame. "Yeo's a walking tank." Bunnies assistant coach Fauzi Zahirul Haq said. "Even in Europe, I don't think there are many guys his age, with his muscular development."
Haq did encourage Yeo to continue broadening his horizons. "While he's been dominating personal contests with his size, some have simply played around him. He needs to come up with additional threats in his game."
And a couple of days back, fellow Rabbits alumni Kwek De Keong moved on to his fourth club after leaving Bunnies, and is now at Dutch Division Six risers RoDeRo following a good month at Poland's FC Jaz - all before turning eighteen. "I don't really encourage club-hopping myself, but it seems to work." Haq mused.
