Into The World
It might have been heartbreak in the cup, but life has got to go on, and a youngster from each of the Grilled clubs would begin their professional careers after getting accepted on free transfers.
From Grilled Birds, old-school man-marker Chen Leng Hui found a new home with Pulau Ubin fourth division side Azaris FC. The former owners of Gallifrey Wanderers FC, Anchorvale Harvest and AzarisTV FC are back for a fourth bite, and head coach Ng Jin Yeow has made his intent to build from the back very clear. Chen joins fellow teenagers Zygfryd Sobolewski, Attilio Silano and Dino Savevski as part of Ng's defence for the future.
From Farmer Bunnies, wide attacker Teh Ping Choon joined up with Finnish VI.186 club FC Iltalehti, over a competing offer by Suriname's RickRolls Training Center. Rancher Rabbits scout Ooi Long Ming described Teh as also having underrated leadership abilities. "He's the take-charge sort, which isn't that rare - what makes it special is that he usually gets the buy-in."
And from Grilled International, unorthodox central defender Eun-Ik Hoo signed with Spanish Division Six outfit Vasiliscos Basilones. The son of Korean expats who had lived most of his life thus far in Brunei, many observers had noted that he would probably have been rather more in-demand, had he been more conservative with the ball in his own area. Despite all that risky behaviour, Hoo remained a dominant force on his own terms, and his eye for the spectacular might be appreciated at a higher level, once properly developed.
