Spanish V.100 club ATLETI SPIRIT brought Grilled International trainee pair Tan Chuan Eng and Hj Timbang bin Hj Azri to Madrid on free transfers, with Chilean head coach Xavier Molina appreciating their good fundamentals in passing and basic movement.
International scout Zulfadly bin Hj Ratano cited this as evidence that the Busy Bees had gotten their coaching priorities right. "We believe that every of our graduates should have a minimum standard of tools by the time they leave. As for Tan and Timbang, I see them as blocks of potential - there's so much more there that can be unlocked, with the right guidance."
The duo will have plenty of company too, with ATLETI SPIRIT also inducting fellow youngsters Wicher Beekhuizen, Mykyta Oparin and Alfred Jankowski on the same day. Grilled Birds also got an unexpected minor windfall, as former trainee Ahmed Pećanić - who spent a little over a season at the club - was sold on to ambitious Chilean Division Five challengers ROMÁN UNITED, for S$7.14 million. The Birds received a cut of just over two hundred thousand on that.
