Laughing To The Bank
Grilled Birds received a windfall of some S$650000 today, after former starlet Ho Dong Ze was sold on to Swiss Division Six club Culés for the unbelievable sum of S$29 million, to join former Farmer Bunnies ace forward Ho Ah Kian.
As with the other Ho, Dong Ze had been a regular with the national U-20 team, and had collected 14 caps with them during his time at Polish side Szczawiki08.
Hovaness Noubaryan didn't try to hide that Ho was just what his squad needed. "We simply don't have anybody remotely close to his ability, in his age group - Ho's right up there with
Chan Ze Han and
Moey Xin Seng, in terms of talent and intangibles. It's rather sad that we won't be able to see them play together, but for nearly thirty million, I'd have to say that there might be more efficient ways to spend that kind of money."
Ho, who claimed the Number Seven shirt at Culés, left the possibility for a return open. "Grilled were in the S-League not long ago, and have just won another cup; I may be back someday, who knows? But for now, I have a job to do with my new club."
