Ludin Follows Footsteps
Undeterred by the mixed fates of his seniors, 17 year-old hopeful Hj Ludin bin Hj Azam became the fourth Busy Bees graduate to sign on with Hungarian club MKB Veszprém.
For the record, Hj Syamsuri has found a measure of stability on the wing and in defence, while Mohd bin Hj Nabil and Mohd Nasrul bin Hj Hairi have left the professional game, their journey done. Hj Ludin isn't dwelling too much on the odds, though.
"I want it to work out, of course, but in the end, someone up there has the final say."
As for the Chicken Wings, they have just concluded their campaign in the 16-team JCL youth league with a 0-2 loss against champions Deimon Devil Bat. The Bats had actually won it going into the curtain-closer, with the Wings passing up a chance to move up to fourth place. They would have to settle for sixth, behind Vlad FC on goal difference, with 55 points and an 18-1-11 record.
Their fans mostly thought this a reasonable finish, and there was little debate about who this generation's star was: Ho Dong Ze. The lightning-fast midfielder had made the left wing his own, and had often been opponents' top priority to shut down - a feat that eluded them more often than not.
Still, some had their own favourites, with Number Twenty Amran Anis a popular alternative for his easy-going personality, as much as his touted do-it-all nature on the pitch. The 17 year-old is reportedly conferring with his advisors on the best time to make a leap, and his fans may see him enter the pro ranks very soon.
