Liu Charts Path
A week after deciding not to renew his Grilled Birds apprentice arrangement, 17 year-old centreback Liu Kuan Chi announced that he had secured a pro contract with Turkish sixth division club İlkbayfu.
This was an unexpected development, what with Liu not giving any indication that he was continuing down this route, but his Wings scout Lim Hock Puay was delighted that it had turned out thus. "I don't think it's ever happened, an academy boy finding a new side entirely independently, that is. Then again, Liu always had great initiative."
Lim couldn't help but proffer a warning too, though. "That aside, Liu must continue to focus on his drills and gym work. He had been stretching himself too thin with other commitments, and now that he's settled on this road, he should put everything into it."
