Ho In Good Cheer
Farmer Bunnies' teenage star Ho Ah Kian went the opposite direction as national teamer
Morgan Hu, swapping the Buns' white for Joker 9's famous navy shirt. The Geylang giants forked out nearly three quarters of a million for the tall winger, who had impressed greatly during his time with the Rancher Rabbits. This included a farewell volley against Fortsæt, in a 5-3 win at The Purple Plantation.
Rabbits scout Ooi Long Ming described Ho as a rare double threat at his age. "He's excellent both at dribbling and passing, which we seldom see at this level. Defenders just can't figure him out. And, if that weren't enough, he's also terrific at corners!"
The sky indeed seems the limit for Ho, who was also hotly recruited by former Sapphire Challenger Cup winners Marina Sailors, rising Tanglin club Lawrence, KS FC - who had just taken Yip Kum Siong from the Birds - and Taiwanese second divisioners Lianghao di Xing. His other admirers included #ORŁY#ZIE(L)ONKA# (Polish Division Seven), Kiskanizsa Heroes (Hungarian Division Four), Dinamo Blezer (Italian Division Seven), Efi-Dia Team (Romanian Division Six), FC-Reinier (Dutch Division Six) and Kadlein Kanuunat (Finnish Division Six).
Ho for one hopes to emulate Joker 9's homegrown U-20 international wingman Li Rong Chao, who only recently left to play for Swiss club real vantheman on a S$13 million transfer. And if that were not enough, Ong reminded the assembled journalists that the Rabbits had another, possibly even brighter, talent in store.
"Ho Meng Feng is finalizing his papers... no, they're not related, but they make a dang good pair. Keep your eyes and ears out, you'll be hearing a lot more from him, very soon!"
