Flying Free
Two Grilled trainees flew the coop on free transfers today, with striker DeAngelo Lai leaving for Iranian Division Five club Arzesh Sazan, and midfielder Aizad Hariri for Spanish Divison Seven club Tocafustanos. Both are seventeen.
Lai admitted that his family was a little concerned about his destination, but that any fears were overblown. "They take their football very seriously here. Arzesh Sazan are an ambitious club pushing to move up, and they are sparing no expense in doing so."
As for Hariri, he admitted to hoping to be able to stay with a local side, and that it was his parents who encouraged him to chase his dream abroad. "I mean, playing in Spain? Many of my friends at the Wings academy would give an arm and a leg for that! Well, maybe not the leg."
